Taylor Academy A12E Steel String Acoustic

Brand:

Instrument Categories: ,

The Taylor Academy A12E is part of the company’s new Academy series of guitars, designed to provide beginners to seasoned players a great playing and sounding instrument at an affordable price point.

The Taylor Academy A12E is a compact grand concert sized body which has a tighter waist and smaller lower bout making it a very approachable and easy to handle body size. It has a solid Sitka spruce top and layered Sapele sides and back. This body size works really well for finger style or players with a lighter touch, as you don’t need to drive the top really hard to produce tone.

Like all of the guitars in the series, the Taylor Academy A12E features a comfortable arm rest built into the lower bout of the guitar body. This arm rest, based on a design introduced in the late 1980s by renowned Canadian luthier William Laskin and later modified by Kevin Ryan, offers excellent ergonomics and more relaxed playing experience.

The sleek neck design of the Taylor Academy A12E is optimized for easy playability and a slinky feel.

The Taylor Academy series has clear tone and excellent intonation and the instruments respond well to the players touch.
