❌SOLD❌ William Laskin 7 String Classical Guitar, 1980

Instrument Categories: , ,

While it’s unusual to have a William Laskin 7 string acoustic guitar in stock, it’s even more unusual to also have a Laskin 7 string classical guitar at the same time.

Built in 1980 at his Toronto shop, this William Laskin 7-string classical is in excellent condition, and plays well. Showing a clear influence of his work with Jean Larrivee – Laskin was Larrivee’s first apprentice in 1970 – this guitar features a sharp Florentine cutaway body built with German Spruce and Indian Rosewood, with Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the bridge and fingerboard. The headplate is also Indian Rosewood.

Compared to the 1992 steel string Laskin 7 string recently posted, this classical guitar is fairly simple and straightforward, though no less well built. The nut is a standard fixed design, and the head has three tuners on the treble side and four on the bass; these are built up from two tuner strips. An L R Baggs I-Beam system is installed with an endpin jack for output.

Typical of classical guitars, it is unadorned, lacking the elaborate inlays Laskin has become justifiably famous for.

The original hard shell case is included.
