Kay Pro Electric 1952 (consignment) SOLD

Kay Pro Electric 1952 (consignment) SOLD

The Kay instrument company made many, many instruments from the late 1930’s. This Kay Pro Electric from 1952 is in excellent condition and is a good example of what was available just before solidbody guitars really took off.

Kay instruments were widely used by many top pop popular artists, from jazz great Barney Kessel to Andrew McMahon in Howlin’ Wolf’s band.

Stelling Bellflower Banjo

Stelling Bellflower Banjo

Just in, a new Stelling Bellflower banjo! Here we have another superb example of Geoff Stelling’s craftsmanship.

Based on the very successful Stelling Bellflower Banjo , the Stelling Sunflower banjo features AAA-grade flame maple construction rather than Virginia Black Walnut; this provides a somewhat brighter tone with a more defined attack. The shaded ‘Cremona’ style sunburst finish pairs very well with the flamed maple.

Fender ‘Johnny Marr’ Jaguar

Fender 'Johnny Marr' Jaguar

We’ve searched for some time for a Jaguar we were comfortable with, and Fender’s new Johnny Marr version looks like it! The Marr Jaguar is a little lower output, brighter and janglier than the traditional, full-vintage Jaguar – and the controls are friendlier! It’s just as comfortable as the original model, with a few other subtle improvements like nylon inserts in the bridge posts to help promote tuning stability, and Mustang style saddles rather than the original threaded-rod Jaguar saddles.

Rickenbacker 325 Conversion Fireglo, 1974 (consignment) SOLD

Rickenbacker 325 Conversion Fireglo, 1974 (consignment) SOLD

The Rickenbacker 325 is perhaps most famously associated with John Lennon on the Beatles tours and many albums and smash hit songs. The short scale and narrow neck allow a lot of complex chord shapes and fast changes.

This 1974 example is in good working order; it’s been played but not abused.
