Fender Custom Shop 51 Nocaster Relic DISCONTINUED

Fender Custom Shop 51 Nocaster Relic DISCONTINUED

This faithful recreation of a Fender classic features an ash body, U-shaped maple neck, single-ply black pickguard and original spec pickups. The Nocaster is painstakingly recreated right down to the finest detail, including the paint “halo” beneath the pickguard. The instrument has been given Fender’s “Relic” treatment to show years of natural wear and tear—nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts.

Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special

Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special

The first time I ever encountered a Jazzmaster in person, it was in the hands of a great guitarist by the name of Stan Gadziola, who was one of two guitarists slinging their axes in the service of an amazing R&B band called Sounder. They played around the Georgian Bay area in the 1980s, and I managed to misspend a fair chunk of my misspent youth at their gigs. I thought the Jazzmaster was just about the coolest looking thing on the planet, especially in an era that was overpopulated by Kramer and Charvel wannabes.

In 1996, the Albert Lee line was broadened to include new colors and an optional Music Man vintage tremolo. The Ball Family Reserve series of guitars feature fine figured tone woods and finishes which are released in limited runs in order to offer the public instruments that were previously reserved for family and artists.

MusicMan Silhouette Bass Guitar SOLD

MusicMan Silhouette Bass Guitar SOLD

Once in while, we come across an instrument or a concept that leaves many people scratching their heads in wonder. I always like seeing and hearing the quirkier side of music. The introduction of the Silhouette Bass guitar isn’t a new concept and in fact Fender introduced a “bass guitar” in the Sixties that appeared on many surf, country and rockabilly recordings. Since the introduction of heavier, avant garde artists like Godflesh, Non-Fiction, The Melvins, Meshugah, Entombed and the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, there has been a trend for guitarist to reach for even lower tones. More mainstream artists like prog rockers Dream Theater, The Deftones and King’s X have been known to employ the baritone guitar in their arsenal of sounds.
