❌SOLD❌Fender Electric XII 12-String Sunburst, 1966

Here’s a rarity from early CBS-owned Fender days – an original Fender Electric XII 12 string with the distinctive ‘bent’ or ‘hockey stick’ headstock! The Fender Electric XII uses the typical Fender approach to guitar construction. The body is Alder in a shape derived from Fender’s offset-waist guitars – the Jazzmaster and Jaguar. The split pickups feed through a rotary four-position switch, allowing a phase reversal in one of the combined positions. The rest of the controls are master volume and master tone.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Flying V 67 Reissue Tobacco Burst, 1990

Built from 1990 into 2014, the Gibson Flying V 67 Reissue had several names as it turned into a regular production model. All of these followed the same construction and design, using a solid Mahogany body and neck with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard, a pair of humbucking pickups and a stop tail piece – ABR bridge combination.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Dove Natural Top Square Shoulder Dreadnought, 1975

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Dove Natural Top Square Shoulder Dreadnought, 1975

In 1963 the Gibson Dove Natural Top was second from the top of the Gibson catalog, with a square shouldered dreadnought body and distinctive hand painted and inlaid pickguard.    The Dove first appeared in 1962 with a cherry sunburst finish. Until the 1960 Hummingbird, Gibson dreadnought acoustics used a round or ‘slope’ shouldered design, differentiating it from the square-shouldered Martin design. The classic J-45 has been a prime example of the slope shoulder, though it too shifted to square-shouldered in 1968 (and was discontinued in 1982; when reintroduced in 1984 it was again slope-shouldered).

❌SOLD❌ Deering Jens Kruger Banjo with Kavanjo Pickup Head, 2007

Here’s a piece of Canadiana – a Deering Jens Kruger Tenbrooks banjo with Kavanjo pickup head, used in Whiskey Jack, the band that backed up Stompin’ Tom Connors. The Deering Jens Kruger models are the top of the Deering Tenbrooks line. As the name suggests, Jens Kruger was closely involved in the design of this banjo, in particular the tone ring which emulates prized pre-war Gibson models.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Memphis ES330 VOS Sunburst, 2013

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Memphis ES330 VOS Sunburst, 2013

The Gibson Memphis ES330 VOS model is now discontinued, along with the Memphis plant, but is a great re-creation of a late 1950’s ES-330. Introduced in 1959, the ES-330 took visual cues from the new and very successful ES-335, but is uses a fully hollow body without a solid center block. A pair of under-wound P-90s provide great tone. Until about 1963, the ES330 and its cousin the Epiphone Casino set the neck joint at the 16th fret but subsequently the joint was shifted to the 19th fret, allowing easier access to higher frets.
