❌SOLD❌ Collings OM2H Orchestra Model Sitka Top, 2008

The Collings OM2H Orchestra Model is a top quality take on the classic OM guitars that date back to the late 1920s, as the great migration of banjo players to guitar began. The OM is based on the 12-fret neck, 1928 Martin 000 body size, which was modified to allow the 14 fret neck that banjo players needed for higher position chording. The upper bouts were ‘flattened’ to accommodate this neck. The 14 fret neck was so successful that on steel string guitars, it completely displaced the 12-fret neck. It’s only in the last few years that builders have been offering 12 fret necks again.

❌SOLD❌ Martin Style A Mandolin Natural, 1936

❌SOLD❌ Martin Style A Mandolin Natural, 1936

The Martin Style A Mandolin had a long production run – from 1914 to 1995, and bridged the European and American approaches to mandolins at a time when mandolins were extraordinarily popular. Most European mandolin designs used a traditional bowl back with a folded or ‘bent’ top. In America, however, Orville Gibson merged arched top and back violin design principles with the mandolin layout for a dramatically different instrument. The new Gibson models delivered significantly higher volume and, not having round backs, were easier to hold and play.

❌SOLD❌ Collings MF Mandolin Satin Burst, 2019

Based on the classic F style carved top and back mandolins from the early years of the Twentieth Century, the Collings MF mandolin is a visually simplified but extremely high quality instrument. Building in Austin, Texas, Collings produces very well built guitars and mandolins, and their nitrocellulose lacquer finish quality is second to none. The Collings MF pairs a carved Adirondack Spruce top with Eastern Flame Maple for the neck, sides, and carved back.

On 16 January 1992, Eric Clapton performed for a small audience at Bray Film Studios in Windsor England. This iconic performance for the MTV Unplugged TV series would spawn an accompanying album that would become his best selling with 26 million copies worldwide.

❌SOLD❌Fender 51 Telecaster PJ Parallel Universe Bass Blonde, 2018

❌SOLD❌Fender 51 Telecaster PJ Parallel Universe Bass Blonde, 2018

Here is a Fender 51 Telecaster PJ Parallel Universe Bass built in 2018, featuring a slab body with blonde finish and a Precision-Jazz or PJ pickup set!   Though now out of production, this is a new bass that still has its protective plastic on the tuner buttons and pickguard. When Leo Fender introduced his first bass in 1951 with the slab body and Telecaster style headstock seen here, it was named the Precision Bass. At that time, virtually all basses were both acoustic and fretless and this often led to inconsistencies in pitch. The addition of frets meant pitch precision, and in short order the Fender Precision bass had displaced acoustic fretless instruments in most genres.

❌SOLD❌ Larrivee SD60 SH Slope Shoulder Dreadnought, 2003

❌SOLD❌ Larrivee SD60 SH Slope Shoulder Dreadnought, 2003

The Larrivee SD60 SH is a take on possibly the earliest Dreadnought sized guitar designs – those built from 1916 by C F Martin for the Ditson company. At the time, guitars tended to be small, with the Parlor size being most common. The Dreadnought was an unusual size for a guitar, but sales were poor, the model was discontinued, and the model disappeared until Martin launched its D size models in 1931.
