❌SOLD❌ National ResoRocket with Hotplate, Steel Finish, 2008

The National ResoRocket is a great sounding cutaway resophonic guitar, and with the addition of a Hotplate resonator cover, it’s ready to go on the loudest stages or through any effects rig. The ResoRocket has all the tone of a National, and the visual charm of the Tri-Cone, but it’s a single cone model featuring the cutaway, ‘Bendaway’ steel body and Tri-cone style vents. ❌SOLD❌ National Style 2-5 Tricone Squareneck Resophonic Guitar, Nickel, 1929

The National Style 2.5 Tricone Squareneck, or ‘Style Two and a Half’ is very close to the Style 2, with just a rose engraving on coverplate’s hand rest making the difference. Introduced in 1927, the Style 2 was the top of the National line, with a  brass body with nickel plating. The wooden components, such as the headstock, are Mahogany, except for the Ebony fingerboard. National Resophonic guitars were a radical, major innovation in musical instrument design.

❌Sold❌ National Style 1.5 Tricone Resophonic Guitar Nickel, 2004

This example of the National Style 1.5 Tricone Resophonic is dated 09-04 (September 2004) and is in overall good condition. The body is brass with nickel plating and a double-line engraving around the edge (the nickel plating presents a few challenges to capturing an image).   Nickel has a tendency to lightly tarnish over time; this is one of the reasons many shifted to Chrome as a longer lasting plating material.

The National Resophonic Style O – yes it’s a letter O, not a zero – goes back to the designs of the 1920s and early salvoes in the Guitar Volume Wars. This 12-fret neck example, dating to March 2015 and built at the National plant in San Luis Obispo, California, blends features of the Style O and Style O Deluxe, particularly in the choice of Mother of Pearl diamond shape position markers. It is in pristine condition with the original hard shell case.
