Introduced in 1938, the Gibson SJ-200 was the top of the line, ‘King of the Flat Tops’, the largest and fanciest non-archtop model. In 1938, the price was a whopping $200, and as an option, you could have your name inlaid on the fingerboard for $50! It went straight to stages and studios, and has been there since. The SJ-200 has appeared on countless recordings, not just Country – both Pete Townsend and Jimmy Page relied on it.

MORE →Overall, this C.F. Martin 000-28 Steel String guitar is in very nice condition, with minor wear. The finish doesn’t have any significant scratches, just very light scuffing that would polish well. Fret wear is light to moderate, and there’s plenty of material for a light fret dress to make them look new. The guitar has been played, but well cared for. This body style is tonally much more even than the big D body Dreadnoughts, which tend to be weighted towards bass.

MORE →This example of the Larrivee OM-60 SH dates to January 14, 2005 and was built at the Larrivee shop in Oxnard, California. It is in good shape, but it has been used as intended and over the years has required some repairs. There are two repaired and cleated cracks in the top. There is a bit of finish chipping and marking, mostly around the edges. Fret wear is moderate, and mostly in the lower positions. However, it plays very well and sounds great.

MORE →Here we have a National Resophonic T-14 Cutaway Tricone in a Weathered Steel finish. The official model number is ‘T-14WS’, and it’s a slim, steel bodied, three cone resophonic guitar with a 14-fret neck. And at under eight pounds, it weighs less than many solid body electrics! The T-14 Cutaway Tricone is full-scale guitar, at 25.66 inches. This requires a bit more tension on the strings and the cones, which can result in increased volume.
