The Martin 000-28EC Eric Clapton model is based on the guitar Eric Clapton used for an historic performance. This example dates to September of 2001 and is in overall good clean condition with minor play wear. Fret wear is light to moderate in the low positions, and there is plenty of fret life remaining. On 16 January 1992, Eric Clapton performed for a small audience at Bray Film Studios in Windsor England.

The Martin OME Cherry is a recently introduced Martin model, based on the OM body, itself derived in late 1929 from a 14-fret neck 000 model. Built with FSC – “Forest Stewardship Council” certified woods, including Sitka Spruce, Cherry and Mahogany, the OME Cherry also comes stock with a Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT1 pickup and preamp factory installed.

From the Custom Shop, here’s a very nice Martin CS 00028 featuring an Adirondack Spruce top paired with Cocobolo for the sides, back and head plate. Martin’s Style 28 was introduced in 1870 and the 000 body size appeared in 1902, with one 000-28 built that year. These had 12-fret necks until 1933, with the change to 14-fret necks spurred by the great banjoist migration that began in the closing years of the 1920s.

C F Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe Guitar

The C F Martin D-28 has for many decades been one of the benchmarks for acoustic guitars, and the brand-new Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe brings new features to this venerable design. Originally introduced around 1911 as a large model for the Ditson company, the D-28 reappeared in the 1930s and has been in production ever since. There have been a number of changes over the years – notably, Brazilian Rosewood has not been used since the early 1970’s – but the core design is unchanged.
