Here’s a guitar with history. This Gibson J-50 in natural was owned by the late, great Domenic Troiano and was used by him on many recording sessions. It’s in great playing condition and ready for use, with no appreciable fret wear and a decent setup.

The physical design of the slope-shoulder dreadnought is comfortable standing or sitting – not too large – and the tone is full, rich and warm without being boomy in the bottom or harsh in the high end. It fits perfectly into many musical genres.

The Gibson SJ, or Southern Jumbo, was Gibson’s slope-shoulder answer to the Martin square-shoulder dreadnought. It was introduced in 1942 with Sunburst as the available finish until 1954. This example of the 1956 Gibson SJ is in good playing condition, with lots of wear. This guitar has been used as intended!

Here’s a beautiful piece – a 2005 Gibson Les Paul 1959 Reissue, with a nicely flamed top and ‘teaburst’ sunburst. This is a reissue of the 1959 Gibson Les Paul, and it’s hardly been out of its case and played even less.

This example of the Gibson ES-345TD (the TD standing for Thinline body, Double pickups) is in good physical condition with no breaks, little scratching and one small chip at the top of the back of the head. It’s in good playing condition; it was professionally refretted and there isn’t a lot of wear on the frets.

The Gibson F-9 mandolin is a ‘no frills’ model featuring a carved and tuned spruce top and flame maple back, flame maple sides and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Only the top is bound, and the instrument sports a satin finish in a vintage brownburst.
