Guild began producing instruments in 1952, and at opening its staff included a number of people from Epiphone who naturally brought their influences with them. The Guild X-350 Stratford was heavily influenced by the Epiphone Emperor Zephyr Regent, down to the pushbutton pickup selector.

Originally drawing from the heritage of the Epiphone workforce, Guild has produced many extremely good instruments over the years. Here’s something unusual! A 1967 Deep Green Guild Starfire XII in good playing condition, though the finish is worn. Guild introduced the Starfire in 1960 as a thinline semi-hollow single cutaway guitar. By 1963, the double-cutaway Starfire IV was introduced.

Here’s a lovely 1976 Guild Capri CE-100D Blonde Archtop. Guild introduced the CE-100 in 1956 and it was built till 1983. A new version is now available from Guild.

This guitar is in great shape and is very comfortable to play.
