Here is the last of the custom build Taylor guitars for the 35th anniversary of the Twelfth Fret. I had the chance to hand select the wood sets for this guitar and pick all of the specifications at the Taylor factory and I have to tell you it is a great feeling when an idea in your head turns out to be such a wonderful looking and sounding guitar! When putting together a custom guitar I really like clean lines, beautiful wood sets and subtle elegant details and this guitar really hits the mark.The Grand Symphony body with a mahogany and sitka wood pairing provides a classic warm and full tone with plenty of midrange, bass and Taylor’s trade mark treble sparkle!

This L-10 is in excellent condition and demonstrates the even, full tone and sparkle that put these guitars in the hands of fingerstyle players. It’s also got a lot of power and articulates cleanly.

Based closely on the banjo made for Leon Hunt, this beautiful example of the Nechville Phantom Curly Maple Leon Hunt Banjo features curly maple and cocobolo. The wooden tone ring combined with a mix of steel and nylon ball bearings gives the warm, fat tone of the famous Nechville ‘Zeus’ model. The attractive honey amber on the metal components is a limited run finish.

The Wildwood series was a successor to the Kingman line. Using the Fender bolt-together concept and dyed beechwood, these guitars were produced in various colours from 1967 to 1971. Solid and dependable, these were sometimes seen on stages in big Country music TV shows. This appears to be an all-original piece.

Today we are featuring a lovely 000 style flat top from local builder Robert Hames. This comfortable small body sports a classy sunburst top and lovely wood sets of Engelmann spruce and Padauk. The body is framed by Peruvian walnut binding and a matching rosette. This guitar has a tone which is crisp and strong with engaging subtle overtones under the surface of the note fundamental. The neck profile and body size make for a very comfortable playing experience. This is a great guitar for light to medium strumming and fingerstyle playing!
