❌SOLD❌ Martin D35 Dreadnought Steel String Guitar, 2002

❌SOLD❌ Martin D35 Dreadnought Steel String Guitar, 2002

The Martin D35 appeared in 1965 as builders adapted to changing Brazilian Rosewood supplies; the D35’s three piece back used panels too small for a two-piece back. By 1969, Martin had officially stopped use of Brazilian, though some occasionally appeared on D35’s as late as 1973, in favour of Indian Rosewood. Despite a false start – the earliest models had overly-braced backs that reduced volume – the Martin D35’s warm yet crisp tone rapidly gained popularity with bluegrass, country and folk guitarists, and singer-songwriters.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Standard Sunburst 2008

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Standard Sunburst 2008

Here we’re looking at a Gibson Les Paul Standard dating to July 25th, 2008 and built at the Gibson Nashville plant. This example has the classic Gibson Cherry sunburst, and based on an 8.4lb (3.8kg) weight-relieved body, making it much more comfortable than many other Les Paul examples. This model also uses the old Kluson style tuners, though they were likely made by Gotoh and are quite good. These tuners were often replaced on older models, but they are quite a bit lighter than the usual replacement (Grover Roto-Matic models, typically) and this can help reduce inertia damage at the headstock should the guitar fall.

❌SOLD❌ Martin D18 Dreadnought Steel String Guitar, 1975

❌SOLD❌ Martin D18 Dreadnought Steel String Guitar, 1975

The Martin D18 is a classic, and has been one of the most popular guitar designs since its mass market introduction in the early 1930’s as a comeback from the mid 1910’s models built for the Ditson company. The Dreadnought was first built by Martin as the ‘Extra Large’ Ditson Model 111, between 1919 and 1930. Ditson was a prominent American music retail chain at the time. The earliest models used a fan style bracing pattern, but by 1924 an X brace was used.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES345 TD Thinline Archtop Electric Sunburst, 1966

Here is a very nice and largely original Gibson ES345 TD in sunburst finish and with a Trapeze tailpiece, built during 1966 at the Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  On the label, the TD in the model name stand for ‘Thinline Double Pickup’. Sometimes you’ll see a ‘C’ added, which denotes Cherry finish. ‘ES’ stands for Electric Spanish, referring to the way the instrument is built and played – another Gibson option was ‘EH’ for Electric Hawaiian, used on steel and lap steel guitars played with a bar, steel or slide.

❌SOLD❌ Froggy Bottom M Body Guitar Sunburst, 2001

❌SOLD❌ Froggy Bottom M Body Guitar Sunburst, 2001

The Froggy Bottom M Body guitar is hand crafted in Michael Millard’s six-person Froggy Bottom shop in Chelsea, Vermont USA. Based on 16 inch wide ‘jumbo’ style body, the Froggy Bottom M body is similar in dimensions to the Martin M design, bigger than the classic 000 body but not as large as a dreadnought. This body design produces a harmonically more even tone than the dreadnought, with less attack and sustain. These characteristics make it an excellent choice for fingerstyle guitarists.
