❌SOLD❌Miller Green T Charlie Christian, 2021

This Alastair Miller Green T traditional solidbody features a Lollar Charlie Christian pickup in the neck position and a cool Green Tea finish! The neck is one piece of Bocote, a relative of Zirocote and native to Mexico and other Central American countries, with a Maple ‘skunk stripe’ insert. The frets are a vintage style wire. The front of the headstock is coated with clear nitrocellulose lacquer with the Miller decal applied over top; the rest of the neck has an oil finish.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-175/CC ‘Charlie Christian’ Archtop Electric Sunburst 1979

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-175/CC 'Charlie Christian' Archtop Electric Sunburst 1979

This Gibson ES-175/CC dates to January 31, 1979.   It’s in very good, original condition and plays well.  This model is unusual, and this particular example even more so. Researching the model, most descriptions mention a ‘Second’ or ‘2nd’ stamp on the back of the headstock.   This one doesn’t have that stamp, and so was deemed first quality.

❌SOLD❌ Recording King Roy Smeck A104 Archtop Electric Guitar, 1939

❌SOLD❌ Recording King Roy Smeck A104 Archtop Electric Guitar, 1939

From the 1920s to 1950’s, Roy Smeck was one of the best known American musicians, playing guitar, banjo and uke and offering instructional materials. Like Les Paul and Chet Atkins, he also took advantage of endorsement deals. One such was with the Recording King company, a lower-priced brand run by Gibson. The Recording King Roy Smeck A104 was a ‘budget’ version of the Gibson ES-150, complete with the ‘Charlie Christian’ style pickup.

National NRP 14 Fret

National NRP 14 Fret

The National NRP brings back memories – I owned one of the few original 1930s National Duolians that I have seen in my 40 odd years in this business that did NOT need a reset and had not history of amateur repairs…and foolishly sold it. The good part is that it went to a pro player who actually regularly gigs with it. I loved this guitar and have always been on the lookout for another. Unfortunately, most 1930s have severely overbowed necks, funky neck sets and played out original low-grade aluminum cones.

❌SOLD❌ National Resophonic Guitars Baritone El Trovador

❌SOLD❌ National Resophonic Guitars Baritone El Trovador

This is a stock El Trovador resonator guitar, but with an extended 27″ scale length. Strung up with 15-69 gauge strings and set in standard baritone B to B tuning, I couldn’t believe the rich warm boom that came from the guitar with my first strum. The ring and articulation were classic National, but with a deeper drone and even longer sustain than usual (which is saying a lot!).
